Changes for the Sacramento Valley Concert Choir We were all saddened when our beloved Artistic Director for the past seventeen years, Jim Parr, announced that he was retiring at the end of our Spring 2023 season. We searched for a successor and considered ourselves very fortunate to find a "gem" in the person of Dr. Aya Ueda. Aya quickly became familiar with the folks in the choir and instituted a learning system for tackling each song in our program for the December 2023 holiday season. Each concert was as close to perfection as possible. In preparing the choir for the Spring 2024 season, she convinced the skeptics that they could learn and perform the choreography she had in mind for the song "And All That Jazz"; it was a winner. The songs Aya selected for our 2024 holiday program may prove challenging, but with her "gentle persuasion" and guidance, and Jason Sia’s wonderful piano accompaniment, we will make them all sound just about perfect. After 25+ years with our home as Arden Christian Church, which has shuttered its doors, we are moving to Unitarian Universalist Society of Sacramento. To the right is our final ACC concert.
